Project for my beginning printmaking class. We Needed to start with a black square (being the unmarked lino block) and move on so that the 8th piece is mostly white. So it was basically a process of carving out a little, printing, carve out a little more, print, etc.
Towards the end (about the 6th in the series) my block started getting really warped from being printed on and carved so much, it was in terrible shape, so the prints slowly got worse in quality.
Also, we needed to do three (successful) prints of every odd-numbered print in the sequence, so that made it even more stressful on the block. Poor block.
All of my classmates were saying that she looks like she's spitting out a tree in the last print. That was kind of amusing.
