Artist's Comments
Did this for a Text project in one of my classes. She's based off of a character in Murakami's "Sputnik Sweetheart."
In the novel, the main character (who is telling the story) talks about how he can't remember what her face looks like, but he can remember her mannerisms and what she wore, even though it's been a number of decades. I think it's fascinating what memory can do to things and people. [ps] This is painted onto a maple wood panel using oil paints and colored pencils. Measurements: 48"x24". |
